Melanie Walsh – Procurement
Melanie has worked within local government for 13 years, including Devon and Cornwall Constabulary where she was responsible for leading national and regional contracts and 6 years as the Regional Procurement Manager for the South West Fire and Rescue Services.
Melanie was responsible for establishing the regional procurement function and for leading a programme of improvements and change alongside delivery of collaborative contracts. She introduced e procurement and the national blue light database into the emergency service sector. She has a proven track record of delivering significant savings, efficiencies and operational improvements through collaborative procurement.
Melanie has experience of leading national and regional contracts. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, won the SOPO award for outstanding achievement in Procurement in 2004 and also the GO individual Excellence in Public Procurement Award in 2007.
Melanie is currently employed by Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service as Procurement Development Manager and works as an Associate through them.
